Connect launches middleware practice

The Connect Partnership has joined forces with middleware expert and former chief architect of BEA WebLogic, Garth Eaglesfield, to strengthen its client offers in the IBM WebSphere and Oracle Fusion middleware spaces.

Oracle's recent acquisition of BEA Systems was a major influence in driving the decision of Connect, a longstanding Oracle partner, to create a distinct 'middleware practice'.

The move has already produced results, leading Connect to win a contract linking a major fund manager to its selected outsourcer, using IBM MQ Series technologies.

Commenting, Brian Reid said: "With many of our client's now outsourcing, extending our middleware client offer to include MQ and other leading technologies is a natural way for Connect to build on our established reputation for integration and message passing.”
